The Researcher is our quarterly newsletter for society members. It is included in the price of membership. Each issue contains queries, Clay County history, and several articles about Clay County families. It also has a listing of the Libraries holdings as well as what publications we offer for sale.

The Researcher


The Society publishes a quarterly newsletter containing original research, records, pictures, and queries. The publications began in July 1980. Back issues of The Researcher are available at $3.75 each; postage is included in the price. Anyone can purchase the newsletters, and members receive the new editions of The Researcher as part of their membership. Mail a check along with your name, address and which newsletter(s) you would like to purchase to us, and we will gladly mail them to you as quickly as possible.
Email the Library for information about NAME INDEXES for the past researchers. Indexes are being compiled and will soon be available. Check the FOR SALE page for availability.

The following links are for excerpts from The Researcher. Some of the articles are quite extensive and contain Clay County history as well as several Clay County family surnames. Check them out. You might find some of your Clay County ancestors listed.

The best way to receive the latest issue of the  researcher is to become a member of the Clay County Genealogical Society. It is rewarding, economical, and easy to do.

Visit us at the Library during normal open hours or drop us a line in the mail. We would be glad to sign you up. You can read more on membership by visiting the membership page.

If you live close to the Library, you might consider volunteering to work in the Library. Researching can be fun, rewarding and educational.
