The Society meets each month, and meetings are open to members and the public. The meetings are held at the Society Library in Center Point, IN. Everyone is welcome to attend meetings at the library. Special programs are planned for some of the meetings. If you have an interest in genealogy or the history of Clay County, then you will enjoy the fellowship. Bring a friend and join us. Meetings are held each month on the third Tuesday of the month. All meetings will be at 1:00 p.m. at the Library.
Volunteers Are Needed
Our library has expanded so much in the past years, that many more volunteers are needed. There is something for everyone’s talents and skills. Please consider donating some of your time to help keep the library open and ready materials for patron use. Volunteers are needed to paste and file clippings in the Family Files, glean information from the Clay County Sheriff’s records of the 1800s and early 1900s, type cards for the card catalog, go through old newspapers for genealogical information, do research from the queries received, download and answer e-mail, help patrons locate information when the library is open, ready materials for mailing, and enter genealogical information on the computer. Please stop by the library on Mondays or Wednesdays from 10:00 to 4:00 or the first and third Saturdays from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. when the library is open or contact us by phone or email.
